Equipment

  • Skillet (for cooking the steak and veggies)
  • Rolling pin (for flattening dough)
  • Baking sheet
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Pastry brush (optional)
  • Grater (for cheese)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Philly Cheesesteak Filling

Start by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing them for about 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften. Add the minced garlic and continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Next, add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet, cooking it for about 3-5 minutes until it’s browned and cooked through. Season with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, and mix everything together until the steak is well coated and combined with the vegetables. Once cooked, remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

2. Prepare the Breadstick Dough

If you’re using store-bought pizza dough, open the package and roll it out onto a floured surface. If using homemade dough, roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness into a rectangular shape, making sure it’s large enough to fold over the filling.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

3. Assemble the Stuffed Breadsticks

Spread the dough out onto the prepared baking sheet, then spoon the Philly cheesesteak filling along one edge of the dough, leaving about an inch on each side. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and provolone cheese over the filling.

Carefully fold the dough over the filling to create a long, stuffed breadstick. Pinch the edges together to seal, and then slice the breadstick into individual portions, about 2-3 inches each.

4. Bake the Breadsticks

Brush the tops of the stuffed breadsticks with melted butter to give them a golden, crispy finish. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garlic powder for extra flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

5. Serve and Enjoy

Once baked, remove the breadsticks from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve them warm with a side of marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
