Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9×5-inch loaf pans.
  2. Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the buttermilk and mix until combined.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Create the Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, mix the 2/3 cup sugar with the cinnamon.
  5. Assemble the Loaves: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pans. Sprinkle three-quarters of the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top. Swirl with a knife or toothpick to create a marbled effect.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
