Instructions:
1. Prep the Ribs:
- Remove the Membrane: Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs. This is a tough layer that can prevent flavors from penetrating the meat and can result in a less tender cooked rib. Slide a knife under the membrane at one end of the rack, lift, and then use a paper towel to grab it and pull it off.
- Cut the Ribs: If your air fryer is small, you may need to cut the rack in half or into individual ribs to fit.
2. Season the Ribs:
- In a small bowl, mix together the lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
- Rub the ribs all over with olive oil, then evenly coat them with the seasoning mix. Make sure to rub the seasoning in well on both sides.
- Zest the lemon and mix the zest into the ribs. Then, squeeze half of the lemon’s juice over the ribs. Save the other half for serving.
3. Air Fry:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) if your model requires preheating.
- Place the ribs in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches.
- Cook for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time. The exact time will depend on your air fryer and how thick the ribs are. You’re aiming for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
