Homemade Coffee Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled (preferably espresso or dark roast)
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or coffee beans (optional, for mix-ins)
Instructions
- Prepare the Coffee Base
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled brewed coffee and sweetened condensed milk. Stir well to combine. - Whip the Cream
In another large bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. This will give the ice cream its creamy texture. - Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the coffee mixture. Use a spatula to combine the two mixtures, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream. Fold until just combined and smooth. - Add Vanilla
Stir in the vanilla extract. If you’re using chocolate chips or coffee beans, fold them in at this stage. - Freeze the Ice Cream
Pour the mixture into an airtight container. Smooth the top with a spatula, then cover tightly with a lid or plastic wrap. Freeze for at least 6 hours or until firm. - Serve
Once the ice cream is fully frozen, scoop it into bowls or cones and enjoy your homemade coffee ice cream!
