Directions
Step 1: Preheat Your Oven
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Baking Dish
- Pour the melted butter into the bottom of a 9×9-inch or 8×8-inch baking dish and spread it evenly to coat the bottom.
Step 3: Mix the Dough
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Bisquick mix and sour cream. Mix until the ingredients are just combined.
- Pour in the 7-Up and gently stir. The dough will be soft and sticky—this is what gives the biscuits their fluffiness.
Step 4: Shape and Place Biscuits
- Carefully place spoonfuls of dough into the prepared baking dish, forming six large or eight medium biscuits.
- Use a spoon or spatula to lightly shape the tops of the biscuits, if desired.
Step 5: Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through.
Step 6: Brush with Butter and Serve
- Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and, if desired, brush the tops with a little extra melted butter. Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips for Perfect 7-Up Biscuits
- Use Full-Fat Sour Cream: Full-fat sour cream adds extra richness and tenderness to the biscuits.
- Gently Stir the Dough: Overmixing can lead to denser biscuits, so just stir the ingredients until they’re combined.
- Substitute Sprite or Club Soda: If you don’t have 7-Up on hand, Sprite or club soda will work as well; just keep in mind that Sprite and 7-Up add a hint of sweetness, while club soda won’t.
- Use a Hot Oven: Make sure the oven is fully preheated to get a good rise and a golden crust on your biscuits.
How to Store and Reheat Leftovers
- Storage: Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Reheating: To reheat, place biscuits in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for about 5 minutes, or microwave for about 20 seconds until warm.
