- Prepare the Oven and Bundt Pan: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Make the Cake Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix just until combined.
- Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Prepare the Butter Glaze: While the cake is baking, combine butter, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the butter melts, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add Glaze to the Cake: After removing the cake from the oven, leave it in the pan and poke holes all over the cake using a toothpick or skewer. Slowly pour the warm butter glaze over the cake, letting it seep
