Instructions
1. Cook the Chicken
Start by heating the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. While the skillet is heating, season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme.
Once the pan is hot, add the chicken breasts. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until the chicken is golden brown on the outside and fully cooked through in the center (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C). If the chicken is thick, you can cover the pan with a lid to help it cook more evenly.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside to rest while you prepare the noodles.
2. Prepare the Noodles
In a medium saucepan, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the egg noodles (or your preferred pasta) and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically about 8-10 minutes.
Once the noodles are done, drain them in a colander and return them to the saucepan. While the noodles are still warm, add the butter and stir until it melts and coats the noodles evenly. If desired, stir in Parmesan cheese for extra flavor. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, then toss in some fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
3. Assemble the Dish
Slice the cooked chicken into strips or serve the breasts whole, depending on your preference. Place a generous portion of buttered noodles on each plate, and top with the sliced chicken. Sprinkle with additional fresh parsley for garnish and a final dash of Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy the warm, comforting flavors of this delicious dish!
