Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions
- Prepare the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and vanilla. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep pan or skillet, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Pipe the Sticks: Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle or piping bag with a wide tip. Carefully squeeze the batter into the hot oil, making 3-4 inch sticks.
- Fry Until Golden: Fry each stick for about 1–2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Dust and Serve: Generously dust with powdered sugar while warm. Serve with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping, if desired.
