Homemade Coffee Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled (preferably espresso or dark roast)
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or coffee beans (optional, for mix-ins)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee Base
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled brewed coffee and sweetened condensed milk. Stir well to combine.
  2. Whip the Cream
In another large bowl, use an electric mixer to whip the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. This will give the ice cream its creamy texture.
  3. Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the coffee mixture. Use a spatula to combine the two mixtures, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream. Fold until just combined and smooth.
  4. Add Vanilla
Stir in the vanilla extract. If you’re using chocolate chips or coffee beans, fold them in at this stage.
  5. Freeze the Ice Cream
Pour the mixture into an airtight container. Smooth the top with a spatula, then cover tightly with a lid or plastic wrap. Freeze for at least 6 hours or until firm.
  6. Serve
Once the ice cream is fully frozen, scoop it into bowls or cones and enjoy your homemade coffee ice cream!
