Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak
In a bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Season the sliced steak with this mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  2. Cook the Steak
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned steak slices and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.
  3. Cook the Eggs
In the same skillet, crack the eggs into the pan. Season with salt and pepper. Cook the eggs sunny-side up or over-easy, depending on your preference, for about 2-3 minutes until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny. If you prefer scrambled eggs, whisk the eggs in a bowl before pouring them into the skillet, and stir until fully cooked.
  4. Toast the Bagels
While the eggs are cooking, split the bagels in half and spread butter on the cut sides. Toast them in a separate skillet or a toaster until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the Sandwiches
On the bottom half of each toasted bagel, layer the cooked steak, a slice of cheese, and the cooked egg. Top with the other half of the bagel.
  6. Melt the Cheese
If desired, return the assembled sandwiches to the skillet for a minute or two to help melt the cheese. You can cover the skillet with a lid to help the cheese melt more quickly.
  7. Serve
Serve the sandwiches warm and enjoy your homemade copycat McDonald’s Steak Egg and Cheese Bagels!
