Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika (if using), salt, and pepper.
  2. Sear the Chicken
In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. The chicken does not need to be fully cooked at this stage. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Broccoli
In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until slightly tender. This step enhances the flavor of the broccoli.
  4. Make the Cheese Sauce
Reduce the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir to combine, then gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring constantly until melted and the sauce is smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Combine and Bake
Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the cheese sauce. Spoon some of the sauce over the chicken to coat. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C) and the sauce is bubbling.
  6. Garnish and Serve
Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your Broccoli Cheddar Chicken hot!
