Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients
- Chop the Vegetables
Dice the onion, slice the carrots, and chop the celery to prepare them for the slow cooker.
Step 2: Add Ingredients to the Crock Pot
- Layer the Ingredients
Place the chicken breasts or thighs at the bottom of the Crock Pot. Add the diced onion, carrots, celery, minced garlic, dried thyme, dried parsley, black pepper, and salt. Pour in the chicken broth to cover the ingredients.
Step 3: Cook the Chicken
- Set the Slow Cooker
Cover the Crock Pot and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Step 4: Shred the Chicken
- Remove and Shred
Once the chicken is cooked, carefully remove it from the Crock Pot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the pot.
Step 5: Add the Noodles
- Cook the Noodles
Stir in the uncooked egg noodles. Cover the Crock Pot again and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes or until the noodles are tender.
Step 6: Add Cream (Optional)
- Make it Creamy
If desired, stir in the heavy cream for a richer, creamier texture. Heat for another 5 minutes to combine.
