Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Grill or Pan: Preheat a grill or a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Prepare the Brisket: Place the thinly sliced brisket on the grill or pan to warm it up for a few minutes on each side. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread. Place the buttered side down on a cutting board or plate.
  4. Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, mix together the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Assemble the Sandwiches: On four slices of bread, evenly distribute the cheese mixture. Top each with a few slices of brisket. Place the remaining slices of bread on top, buttered side up, to form sandwiches.
  6. Grill the Sandwiches: Place the sandwiches on the preheated grill or pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the grill or pan and let them cool for a minute or two. Slice them in half diagonally and serve hot.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, you can add caramelized onions or sliced pickles to the sandwich before grilling.
  • Serve the sandwiches with a side of coleslaw or potato salad for a complete meal.
  • If you don’t have brisket, you can use any other smoked or grilled meat of your choice, such as pulled pork or chicken.
